In Search of Ethical Excellence The Ethical Profile system, created as part of Dr Spiller’s PhD research, incorporates the 60 best practices of ethical business based on international business and investment case studies and the application of this to the NZSE 40.
This system has provided the foundation for an ongoing “Best Ethical Practices” research project through the New Zealand Centre for Business Ethics and Sustainable Development in conjunction with Profile Publishing who is behind the Kensington Swan Business Ethics Awards.
The awards celebrate good business practices and, in conjunction with the research project, provide benchmarks for other businesses to measure their own practices. They respond to the increasing interest from shareholders, employees, customers, suppliers and the public who want to encourage ethical business. These stakeholders want an objective, independent assessment of a company’s ethical performance and the awards are a key part of this.
The Ethical Governance Awards profile examples from New Zealand business. They identify New Zealand stories of businesses that are “doing well by doing good” and provide examples for current and future leaders of New Zealand business.
